National Cadet Corps
With great pride, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Company of SS B.S.T.A.S. College, Mailam, was officially raised and inaugurated on 15th October 2025. The momentous occasion was graced by Commanding Officer Col. S. Chakrabarty and the revered 20th Pontiff, Sri Sivagnana Balaya Swamigal, who was then serving as the Principal and Secretary of the institution.
Aims of NCC
To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service amongst the Youth of the Country.
The very first aim of NCC is such that it provides you an environment where your character is developed all round, because a person's character is very important as to how he is perceived by society. The cadets are part of a society where everyone has each other's back and are living in harmony and working together and develop comradeship. The cadets are taught discipline through drill and physical activities. Their leadership qualities are developed by giving them ranks and responsibilities at a young age.
The camps bring about a spirit of adventure and are given exposure to other state cadets and cadets belonging to different backgrounds and this imbibes qualities of patriotism.
To Create a Human Resource of Organized, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.
Cadets have a unique identity wherever they go and as the saying goes, " Once a cadet , always a cadet" , ex NCC cadets have a skill which makes you disciplined and are trained in the way of following and giving orders and the leadership qualities taught last enough for a life time and ex NCC cadets have gone on to achieve great things in many fields.
To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.
The cadets are trained in the military way of life and are given training my soldiers and officer and are allowed to participate in many adventure activities and are motivated to take up a career in
